Farmers have always been important to President Prabowo Subianto, as stated by Dedek Prayudi, a Senior Expert at the Presidential Communication Office (PCO). Prayudi mentioned that Prabowo’s connection with farmers dates back to his time as a military officer and his leadership of the Indonesian Farmers Harmony Association (HKTI). This sentiment was expressed during the recent corn harvest event in Jenggalu Village, Seluma Regency, Bengkulu Province, led by President Prabowo and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. The event highlighted the importance of the food security program, especially in light of the global situation where Indonesia needs to reduce its reliance on foreign food supplies to prevent price surges. Prayudi emphasized the need for government support in the form of subsidized fertilizers, pesticides, and agricultural machinery to increase yields and motivate farmers. The initiative has garnered support from the National Food Agency and the State Logistics Agency, which are working to absorb farmers’ harvests and integrate supply chains for better market prices. The ultimate goal is to increase productivity and ensure the happiness of farmers in the community.
