Nicolo Bulega’s journey to MotoGP was once clear, but now faces uncertainty as his move to the premier class in 2027 is in doubt. The upcoming technical changes in MotoGP, including 850cc engines, reduced aerodynamics, and a switch to Pirelli tires, have positioned Bulega as a test rider for Ducati to capitalize on his experience with Pirelli tires from the World Superbike Championship. While his recent performance in the final races of last season and Valencia test showed potential, the current dynamics of the rider market have limited his options for a Ducati seat in 2027. With five of the six Desmosedici GP seats already filled for the upcoming season, Bulega’s manager acknowledges the lack of concrete offers on the table. Despite the uncertainties, Bulega remains focused on his MotoGP dream and is grateful for the opportunity as a test rider, with hopes still alive for a future move to the premier class.
