Goodyear has developed a new tire that aims to lay down rubber on the track, regardless of the weather conditions. Justin Fantozzi, Goodyear’s Director of Racing for the Americas, shared that the objective was to reduce temperature sensitivity and create a tire that could lay down rubber even in cold conditions. The key to achieving this was understanding how the concrete surface behaves in different temperatures and adjusting the tire accordingly. By testing in cold weather and considering the grip factor changes, Goodyear was able to develop a tire that can perform consistently in varying conditions.
