Corey Heim, the reigning Truck champion, showcased his skill in the recent race by restarting ninth with only two laps left but managing to pass several trucks due to his slightly fresher tires. While Ross Chastain was confidently in the lead by more than half-a-second at the white flag, Heim caught up and executed a last-lap, last-corner pass to secure the victory. Heim attributed his success to the advantage of having fresher tires, stating that he took a risk considering his starting position and managed to make all the right moves to emerge victorious. Chastain, on the other hand, admitted that he was not aware of Heim’s tire advantage during the final restart, showing surprise at the outcome of the race.
In the post-race interview, Chastain acknowledged that his team failed to catch the tire advantage of Heim, leading to his loss in the closing moments of the race. Meanwhile, Christian Eckes finished third, followed by Kaden Honeycutt in fourth, Connor Mosack in fifth, Christopher Bell in sixth, Grant Enfinger in seventh, Gio Ruggiero in eighth, Daniel Hemric in ninth, and William Sawalich in tenth. AJ Allmendinger, making his first Truck oval start in 18 years, achieved a commendable 11th place, following Daniel Dye’s suspension.
The race witnessed various stages of intense competition, with drivers like Honeycutt, Chastain, and Eckes taking center stage at different points. Eckes emerged victorious in Stage 1, while Honeycutt dominated Stage 2, and Chastain and Hocevar showcased their skills in Stage 3.
