Prabowo Subianto, President of Indonesia, praised Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim for successfully mediating the conflict between Thailand and Cambodia, leading to a ceasefire. During their bilateral meeting at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, President Prabowo expressed his congratulations to Anwar for his leadership as Chair of ASEAN. He offered Indonesia’s support to Anwar in his role as Prime Minister of Malaysia and as Chair of ASEAN. Prabowo emphasized the importance of peaceful conflict resolution in ASEAN, urging nations to engage in consultation, negotiation, and consensus. He highlighted the significance of mediation in resolving conflicts, especially among Southeast Asian countries with shared cultural and historical ties. President Prabowo was joined by senior members of the Red and White Cabinet in welcoming Prime Minister Anwar, including Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of State Secretariat Prasetyo Hadi, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono.
