National Children’s Day in Indonesia is not just a day of celebration, but a day that President Prabowo Subianto aims to make impactful in securing the future of the nation’s children. The government has launched three key programs to directly benefit children: Nutritious Free Meals (MBG), Free Health Checkups (CKG), and School Revitalization. MBG focuses on providing proper daily nutrition to children, as many school-aged children go to school without eating breakfast, leading to issues such as iron deficiency anemia. The Free Health Checkups include various health checks for students to ensure their well-being.

The government’s efforts are in line with the constitutional mandate to guarantee the right to health for all citizens, especially children. The initiatives aim to protect and promote public health by providing preventive care free of charge. The School Revitalization Program is another crucial initiative that will renovate thousands of schools across the country, focusing on those in remote or underdeveloped areas lacking basic facilities. President Prabowo has allocated a significant amount in the national budget to fund this program to address the alarming number of damaged schools.

The program prioritizes schools with severe structural damage, recognizing the urgent need to provide a safe and dignified learning environment for all children. The conditions in some schools, including the lack of basic facilities like proper toilets, not only pose safety risks but also impact the dignity and health of students, especially girls. It is essential to ensure that school buildings provide a hygienic and safe environment for students to learn and thrive.
