JAKARTA – Calon Presiden nomor urut 2, Prabowo Subianto, once again became the target of hoaxes regarding his health condition. The news mentioned that Prabowo had to be hospitalized after campaigning in Sumedang. However, clarification from the Deputy Chairman of the Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team, Afriansyah Noor, affirmed that Prabowo is in good health and fit.
Afriansyah emphasized that the information circulating in several WhatsApp groups is untrue or a hoax.
“Pak Prabowo is still in good health,” he said. This is not the first time Prabowo has been accused of being sick, with several previous incidents, including rumors of a stroke and vertigo, which were later denied by the Deputy Chairman of the Gerindra Party, Budi Djiwandono.
The Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) also spoke out through its official website, calling the news a hoax. Budi Djiwandono denied allegations regarding Prabowo’s health condition during a medical examination at the Gatot Soebroto Army Central Hospital (RSPAD). The results of the health tests conducted on October 26, 2023, by the KPU doctor’s team stated that Prabowo and Gibran Rakabuming Raka qualified for the 2024 Presidential Election.
Prabowo himself gave a firm response on January 24, 2024, when he was said to be sick. “Sick? Who said I’m sick? Hoax, hoax,” said Prabowo at Halim Air Force Base, Jakarta.
Following the latest hoax through a WhatsApp message claiming that Prabowo was sick after campaigning in Sumedang, Afriansyah Noor and RSPAD Head Albertus Budi once again denied it. They emphasized that Prabowo is not sick and his name is not on the RSPAD list. Prabowo even attended three events on Wednesday (1/31/2024) and is scheduled to attend the Grand Meeting of the Democratic Party at Gajayana Stadium, Malang, East Java, today.
In the face of hoaxes regarding his health, Prabowo Subianto emphasized, “When we are tested, we must be strong and firm. Do not pay too much attention to unclear and counterproductive issues,” he said firmly. He also emphasized the importance of focusing on development and vision for the 2024 Presidential Election.
